STADION PARTIZANA

PARTIZAN'S STADIUM

Partizanov stadion je zvanicno otvoren 23.12.1951. Kapacitet iznosi 32 710.

Partizan Stadium was officially opened on 23 December 1951. Capacity of the stadium is 32,710 spectators. Till year 1998 stadium had seats only on east and west side while north and south side of stadium were for standing. Capacity was around 45,000 though maximum of spectators ever was 55,000. There are plans to upgrade stadium and place covering to all seats and sliding roof over football field, but because of this crisis, the planes have been canceled until further notice (maybe 15 years).

First name the stadium had was JNA (stands for Yugoslav National Army) and was made during communism period. After the ex-Yugoslavia separated the name changed to Partizan Stadium but still when Partizan is mentioned so is stadium name JNA. There were some suggestions how to change the name of the stadium and some were: Hram Fudbala (Temple of Football), Dragan Mance Memorial Stadium and Stakleni Valjak (Glass Roller).Still no changes were made.
